LAFKI or the Indonesian Health Facilities Accreditation Institute is an independent institution in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number HK.01.07/MENKES/32/2023 concerning Accreditation Organizing Institutions for Public Health Centers, Clinics, Health Laboratories, Blood Transfusion Units, Doctors' Independent Practice Places, And a Dentist's Independent Practice Place. Which aims to provide assessments and guarantees for health facilities in Indonesia with the aim of improving quality and patient safety towards a Healthy Indonesia.

LAFKI is committed to the concept of continuous improvement, working with health facilities to ensure continuous improvement of health systems and services. Regardless of the type or location of the healthcare facility, LAFKI adheres to its policy of providing accreditation support at all times.

LAFKI must be completely impartial, in order to remain credible in providing accreditation services that provide trust to the public, while maintaining the professionalism and integrity of the accreditation process of health facilities. Therefore, LAFKI ensures that impartiality is upheld as an integral part of the accreditation process. As an independent institution, this ensures the upholding of the principles of objectivity.

Principle of Non-Alignment:

  1. LAFKI will not accept accreditation applications from health facilities that have a direct operational relationship with its accreditation team.

  2. LAFKI will not enter into partnerships to provide direct consultation that may affect the results of accreditation.

  3. LAFKI may provide training related to accreditation standards, but this should not affect the assessment process.

The Seven Controls of Nonpartisanship:

  1. The Survey Team is prohibited from participating in the assessment of the accreditation of health facilities:

    • Where they have provided guidance

    • Where they have a financial interest/place of work

  2. The Survey Team is obliged to maintain the confidentiality of information, only sharing it with the survey team.

  3. All Survey Teams must:

    • Sign a confidentiality agreement

    • Noting potential conflicts of interest

  4. LAFKI Management and Staff are prohibited from engaging in consulting activities that may affect the assessment.

  5. Management and Staff are required:

    • Submit survey fees openly

    • Not suggesting that accreditation will be easier with certain services

    • Not offering consultation services to health facilities that are being accredited

  6. In the event of an unavoidable conflict, it will be reviewed.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • LAFKI will be evaluated periodically

  • Feedback from health facilities will be used for continuous improvement

  • This policy will be reviewed from time to time to ensure its effectiveness
